  • The learning continues…..

    Day 1 and Bella from Year 2 can be seen keeping up with her schoolwork from home.   Thanks go to the PFTA for suggesting the  Reef Relief science lesson which Alex from Year 1 enjoyed.  He also studied the Eco-system and food chains in his garden and enjoyed tadpole spotting in the sunshine!

    We have Oliver in Year 1 – making a 3D Easter Chick, and then using computer programme Purple Mash to decorate an Easter Egg, and his sister  Anna in Year 3 using manipulative a to solve equivalent fractions in The Mystery of the Missing Sheild task. 
     
    Thank you to all parents who have been able to keep  your children at home and are trying so hard to keep their learning going.

    Our Year 1 children recently enjoyed a visit to Broadstairs Library where they were able to explore the different kinds of books available to them.  Most children who already hold a Library card chose a book to take home and for those first time visitors,  many joined and were also able to take a book home with them.    The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole class and  has sparked their imagination and enthusiasm for reading and creative writing.
  • St. Joseph’s celebrates World Book Day

    An array of thrilling costumes, make-up and wigs set the backdrop to our World Book Day celebrations when children were invited to come dressed as a character from their favourite book.  The day started with an impressive Assembly performed by Year 6 with a theme of “It’s all about the books, bout the books, bout the books” ,   promoting  reading and sharing the love of books and creative writing.

    Our Short Story Writing Competition was well supported with many imaginative and beautifully crafted pieces of work.  Congratulations to all who entered and to our 7 winners, Nasira, Alex, Alex, Farrah, Ava, Harmonie and Thomas who were each presented with a certificate and book token for being chosen to read their stories in Assembly.

    The day was a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed by all and definitely a firm favourite on the school calendar.

  • Superhero Alex saves the day!

    Alex and Harry from Year 1 recently attended a Comic Exhibition run by ‘The Beaney’.  As part of this interactive exhibition there was a competition to design and Superhero and we are delighted and proud to announce that Alex won the competition.  He was thrilled with his prize of a collector’s edition of a 1960’s …
