  • Times Tables Rock Stars were terrific!

    Mon 20 Nov 2023

Inside every one of us is a Rock Star waiting to get out and on Thursday last week children  were invited to Rock-Out and come to school dressed as their favourite Rock Star to take part in the Times Tables Rock Stars Competition.

The aim of the competition is to answer as many questions correctly as possible on the Times Tables Rock Stars platform.  Competition hours are limited to 7.30am to 7.30pm and there is a 60-minute limit of playtime per player.

The children did so well and out of the 292 primary schools that took part across the South East, St. Joseph’s came 40th.  Across the whole country our Year 5 class came 638th out of 4361 schools and finished in the top 6%.  Ryan from Year 5 smashed his target with a whopping 13,524 correct answers.  We are very proud of this achievement and a very big well done to all the children who took part showing how well they can Rock-Out their Times Tables!

Mr. Pasola, our Year 5 Teacher and Maths Lead said “The children did brilliantly! outperforming other schools and showing how well they can Rock-Out their Times Tables but under all the fun is the real importance of children knowing their times tables, to be able to apply them to all areas of the curriculum, and to life”.

'Times Tables Rock Stars' has been engaging, fun and great for maths!
