St. Joseph’s celebrates World Book Day

An array of thrilling costumes, make-up and wigs set the backdrop to our World Book Day celebrations when children were invited to come dressed as a character from their favourite book.  The day started with an impressive Assembly performed by Year 6 with a theme of “It’s all about the books, bout the books, bout the books” ,   promoting  reading and sharing the love of books and creative writing.

Our Short Story Writing Competition was well supported with many imaginative and beautifully crafted pieces of work.  Congratulations to all who entered and to our 7 winners, Nasira, Alex, Alex, Farrah, Ava, Harmonie and Thomas who were each presented with a certificate and book token for being chosen to read their stories in Assembly.

The day was a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed by all and definitely a firm favourite on the school calendar.
