Year 3 and 4 Rounders Competition

Despite the grey start to the day, the sun was shining as our Year 3 and 4 Rounders team arrived at their venue.  The wonderful staff and students of St. Georges were there to greet us again and lead the events organised by Gary Reese, our local School Games Organiser.  We felt very lucky that we were able to compete in this friendly against local schools.

Our first match was against at year 5/6 side from Haddon Dene.  durig a hard played game we found our stride and had some great batting from the whole team.  Annie and Kaiyan demonstrated some amazing bowling.  Dante showed his running skills as he completed an exceptionally quick few rounders.

Our next opponents were a Year 6 team from Upton, again our team proudly worked together to complete a good amount of rounders.  The bowling team was ably led by Isabella and Romeo who formed a strong bowler/bat stop partnership.  Our final match pitched us against the home side of St. George's Primary Year 3/4 team.  We were stiff competition for our opponents and scored many rounders with Martha and Louise leading our batting side.  Bella and Lydia showed off their bowling prowess with strong ball skills, ably assisted by James who managed to stump-out a few children on the fourth stump.

The children's great teamwork throughout a non-stop afternoon was awarded with medals for all, the awards were presented by Gary who rounded off a fun afternoon with the hope that we will be able to enjoy many more of these events in the future.

Well done St. Joseph's.
